The Culture Commission of the Como Province Order of Architects PPC (Planners, Landscape Artists and Conservators) is organising an exhibition of selected images from the book “Close-Up, Ruch & Partner Architekten 1994-2018”, with photographs by Filippo and Donatella Simonetti.
The presentation of the book is scheduled for Friday 27th September 2019 at 7:30 pm.

Close-up is a full-bodied volume with a size of 28x30cm, consisting of over 400 pages and published by Scheidegger & Spiess. It includes a vast selection of architectural works created the Ruch & Partners studio of St. Moritz from 1994 to 2018. There is an edition in English and also one available in German.
All the photos are by Filippo and Donatella Simonetti, whilst the texts are by Hans-Jörg Ruch and Franz Wanner. Each work is illustrated by full-page photos, a description and detailed project plans. The works range from the restoration of historic Engadine houses to public buildings such as hotels, religious buildings, museums, libraries, alpine refuges, power stations and art galleries.
Continuously fascinating architecture that interacts with a landscape of incomparable beauty.
The work of Close-up gives us an intimate look at the work of nearly twenty years of the Swiss studio’s architectural production, using photography as a means to get to the heart of the architectural lexicon and provide a new way to experience, even if from a distance, the sensations that buildings give to those who use them.
