The Antonio Vivaldi Orchestra was founded in December 2011 and very quickly became a member of the Italian music scene, participating in the biggest concert seasons and festivals, and boasting collaborations with national institutions. Lorenzo Passerini and Francesco Manara, close-knit musicians of this ensemble, propose a concert that will open with a fairytale atmosphere, that gradually bursts into contemporaneity with “FM,” a rhapsody for the violin and orchestra, composed in 2014 by the young compositional talent Piergiorgio Ratti (class of 1991) and performed for the first time that same year by Lorenzo Passerini of the Antonio Vivaldi Orchestra on the podium and Francesco Manara on the violin.
The concert will continue with the great Romantic momentum of Violin Concerto in D, Op. 35 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and will close with the heroic notes of Symphony No. 8 in F major, Op. 93 by Ludwig Van Beethoven (composed in 1811-1812) as part of a program that will look at over 200 years of compositional technique, revealing the new generation of an Italian composition school, Russian romanticism, in one of the most noble periods, and finally Beethovenian Romanticism of the First Vienna School.
